Becky works as the research and communications coordinator for the Our Data Indigenous app. She is an app trainer and also develops training materials for the app, in addition to managing the website.
Becky completed her Masters of Environment focusing on Indigenous Research and Data Sovereignty in fall of 2023 while working on the app project. Her background is in environmental studies and biology and past experiences include conservation and restoration in prairie and forest ecosystems, as well as community engagement and education. She loves learning about medicinal plants is committed to discovering innovative ways to help protect and conserve the environment and work toward social justice. By promoting a greater respect for the environment, she hope to guide people in understanding social and environmental issues and finding sustainable solutions through decolonization, inclusion and facilitation.
Outside of work Becky participates in various art and photography projects around Winnipeg and is a singer/songwriter in a local band.
